Ok, I’ve caved…

Just for Hannah: here is what I spent the budget of a small african nation on…

The tabletop easel I got from Kiwiscraps for taking photos of my minialbums/layouts on. I got a tonne of cool chipboard shapes, some beautiful new colours of glimmermist (taking my collection up to 13 bottles!), a new sanding block, some ribbons, some stamping daubers, some sequins, glitter, lots of alphabets (always running outta those), a couple of kaiser minialbums (on special – 2 for $14 and I have them in mind for presents), some Prima flowers for a wedding album for a gift next year, some stickers/rubons also for a gift album for next year, some GORGEOUS antique Prima crystal bling and lots of other little bits…

And then…

Loving the transparencies I found, plus some rather special papers from MME and Websters… ooooh they’re just stunning!! I also treated myself to a new book and a magnetic cutting board – I do so many layers with my scrapping that some magnets to hold them down while I work will be indispensible.

So there you are, my shocking spending spree [hanging my head in shame but secretly sneaking a peek over at the pile of goodies]. I do go through a lot of stuff though! I mean, it’s not like I just store it all… hmmm making excuses now…

Ok, my name is Louise [hi Louise], and I’m an addict…

🙂

I went, I saw, I spent…

waaaayyyyy too much. Thanks to my enabler I pretty much bought up the stock of SENZ!

We flew out very early on Saturday morning (well the flight was 8.30am but we had to be up at 6am to get ready, pick up mum, get Joshie outta bed and to the airport for 7.30am). The flight was good and we hired a cute wee car to get around in. Within 30 mins of landing we were on our way to SENZ (we’re not ones to waste time… LOL). This year SENZ was held at the Trentham Racecourse and, as someone on crutches, it wasn’t the most user-friendly venue. There were ramps and steps all over and the show was split into a couple of narrow rooms that were not only hot and claustrophobic, but near impossible for someone with a moonboot. However, I prevailed! hehehe… I fought my way through to buy some fabuloso goodies that I can’t wait to dive into! I won’t show a piccie as I’m ashamed at my shopping frenzy, suffice it to say we had an extra bag coming home.

I met up with Trace (who’d I’d met previously at Deb’s crop) as well as meeting Mich, Steph Milne, Trina McClune and bumping into Megan Renfree as well… I didn’t manage to catch Nic as she was doing her classes while we were there so will have to hunt her down at the Retreat! LOL Be afraid Nic, very afraid… wahahahhaa…

Today is mum’s birthday – HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM!! I’ll ring you soon but thought you’d like a lie in after carting me and my shopping all over Welly this weekend.

We stayed at the rather gorgeous CityLife Hotel, just around the corner from the Beehive. I was sooooo tempted to hunt/run down Helen Clark (boo, hiss) if I’d seen her so it was lucky we didn’t and I wasn’t driving! (Nope, I’m not a Labour voter…). Anyhooo the place we stayed was gorgeous, such a treat!!

After SENZ we (being suckers for punishment) decided to hobble down to Kiwiscraps to check out their shop as I’d never been before. It’s a big shop with lots of goodies in it, but I think I was a bit shopped out by the time we got there.

Sunday morning we had half a day to waste before heading back to the airport so went to Westfield Queensgate mall – it’s a nice mall and I managed to buy a few bits for Joshie and Steve. Joshie was a bit of a demon for Steve as he was wanting me, hence the fact he had me up numerous times last night just for a cuddle. Awww… can’t be mad at him for missing me! I missed them both too…

Oh well, off to get some work done and unpack my SENZ goodies!!

🙂

Leaving… on a jet plane… don’t know when I’ll be back again…

Actually yes I do – Sunday afternoon. Poor Joshie wants desperately to come on the plane with us. I’ve been telling him about going to the airport (so he’s prepared for an early wakeup call tomorrow) and he keeps saying “I come?”… poor wee guy. I soooo hope he’s ok for Steve, still I’m sure they’ll both survive and I’m really looking forward to going.

Here’s a layout for Embellished FNL, I may have put it up a little early but you’ll still need to head over and check the site to see what the actual challenge was ‘coz I’m not telling!

Ok, I’ll make it short and sweet, love ya and leave ya with these rather ghoulish looking cookies that I’m going to have a go at making for the retreat:

Catch ya on the flip side!

🙂

quick update!

Well yesterday was Joshie’s actual birthday and we took him to see Space Chimps at the movies, he loved it and it was much better than I was expecting. He was obviously full of energy afterwards and proceeded to take off up the mall as fast as he could with mum in hot pursuit and me on crutches skipping along after them both! Soooo he spent the rest of the time confined to the pushchair before falling asleep 2 minutes to the car… why do they do that?!?

Our lounge now looks like an explosion in a Disney factory with umpteen ‘cars’ themed items ranging from books to trucks to hats etc… he’s such a boy! All in all he had a great day and besides the mall incident and being a bit grumpy from not having a nap was a definite new and improved version from the 2 year old!

I’ve not had much chance to scrap this week, I’ve been behind with my work due to my foot but am thankfully catching up and managed to put together a page which I can’t share with you until next week! LOL… sheeze i’m a tease.

SENZ this weekend and I’m looking forward to the show but not the flight. I HATE flying, I’m not afraid to fly but I’m always thankful to be back on the ground. Also having long legs (and a big bum) makes me very uncomfortable during the flight which also usually kicks off a bout of crohn’s… aaaaah… I must be addicted to bother… LOL… the flight aside though I’m REALLY looking forward to the actual show.

I’m also feeling rather clever with myself today, I’ve managed to set up my computer as a virtual server so I can test php files without uploading them somewhere… yay!! Now I sound like a geek. Maybe I am one. Who cares…

🙂

the birthday grump…

We had Joshie’s birthday party on Saturday (it’s not his actual birthday until Wednesday) and although he started off grumpy he came right and had a ball. This year I booked it at Kids Republic, an indoor play area a lot like Chipmunks and it’s a good thing I did! There’s no way I could’ve done it with my foot in a moonboot and it was great to be able to walk away from the mess! LOL

Ok… the piccies aren’t great as my camera seems to play up on indoor shots (flash goes haywire)…. good job the birthday fairy has gotten a new one for me soon… 🙂

The face only a mother could love… I mean, he had sooooo many reasons to be grumpy… all his friends were there, he was having a party and getting presents. Yep, I can see why he was upset! I think he was all a bit overwhelmed actually, he’s not a kid that likes to be the centre of attention (just like his mum)…

Still, a quick burst of sugar seemed to fix him right up!

And his cousin Charlotte had no problems with the party food, I soooo wish Joshie was a better eater!

Still, 7 of his friends came to his party and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.

So my birthday boy is officially 3 on Wednesday, but according to him he’s already there. He’s convinced he’s now a big boy and he’s slept through the last couple of nights no problem, AND gotten himself out of bed (no mummy, mummy in the morning) in a NICE MOOD! unheard of… hopefully that means that my gorgeous wee man has made a big leap emotionally and will be more settled and LESS GRUMPY now! LOL

As for me, I spent last Friday icing Joshie’s birthday cake and then forgot to take any photos! duh… you’d think I broke my brain not my foot at the mo… it’s just not in gear. All in all I’m a lot more mobile and able to do things but there’s this constant ache and awareness of the moonboot and it’s distracting me from the kazillion of other things I’ve got to get done. Nevermind. I’m back to working and scrapping this week as per normal and off to SENZ this weekend. I’m soooo not looking forward to flying (which I hate doing) but the show should be good. If you’re going come and say hi, I’ll be the one trying to balance on crutches with millions of scrapbooking goodies hanging off the handles.

🙂

Hoppity hop…

I’m sooooo over this broken foot and being on crutches – everything is so damn hard to do, even getting dressed is a mission. My frustration factor was off the charts yesterday and I’ve been a grumpy cow most of the week but after seeing the Orthopedic doc yesterday I’m resigned to having the boot on for a fair while yet. I have another x-ray in a month’s time and if it’s not fixed then it’s surgery, fortunately though it’s only a crack and not a complete break so I’m grateful for small mercies…

On the upside of spending a lot of time on my bum I’ve created a new kit for Eidou – Bed of Roses is a little bit heritage and is really gorgeous. Soooo, here’s the new kit:

and a layout I’ve created with it:

Have you entered the Eidou Cropstar competition yet? I’ve had a couple of emails from people concerned they’re not digital scrapbookers nor hybrid-enough to enter – even if you only adjust your photos or do your journalling on the computer you’re still considered a hybrid scrapper and are eligible to win the AMAZING Wacom Graphics Drawing Tablet – worth around $200! Also Embellished are donating a FABULOUS prize pack and we have a whole heap of other goodies to give away.

If you want to be in just go to www.eidou.com and register in the forum/gallery and store and drop us an email to let us know to register you!! easy as that. Competition starts 1st November and registrations are open now!!
