Merry Christmas everyone and thank you for your support of Eidou this year. 2009 is going to be huge and we’ll be bringing you so many exciting things so stay tuned, keep safe and have a wonderful holiday season!

Just read this on Scrapbook Studio’s blog and loved it so thought I’d share it…

T’was the night before Christmas, I’m glued to the tree.
I’m wondering what Santa brought just for me.

Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face.

And that’s when I heard him,“Hi Santa, ” I said
“You know….good little girls should be in their beds.

“I know I should Santa, and now I’ve got caught.
But I was just so excited to see what you brought.”

“Well, let’s take a look in this room where you work.
He shook his head quickly, and left with a jerk.

I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear.
“You’ve got enough crap, I’ll see you next year”

too funny and too true! I’ve been super busy with creating gift albums this last couple of weeks so haven’t managed to scrap much, however a new year and yay the albums are all finished!! I ended up doing 2 mini albums and a full 20 page 12 x 12 album in the last two weeks. Thank God it’s all done… phew! now I can relax…

I’ll be around in the New Year, got lots planned for Eidou so have a wonderful Christmas everyone!! x

OMG… I’m in Prima Heaven!!

It’s here, it’s here!! can you tell I’m excited? just a little? ok maybe a lot…

There’s gotta be almost NZ$2000 worth of Prima goodness in there (you can’t see the layers!!)

wow… need to sit down… but I can’t, too excited!! Thanks again to Prima for their generosity and for choosing me! I still think it was a mistake… but I’m so glad they made it… hehehe

The other night we took Joshie off for our annual wander around Smales Farm – it’s an industrial area on the North Shore that puts up lights and a big tree every year and is free to go to.

I love the fact that there’s loud Christmas music and even though there’s not that much to look at (the laser light show is nothing to write home about) just soaking up the atmosphere amongst a few thousand like minded individuals is just a bit special. We followed it up with a bit of a light trail around the streets around home… aaaah I love this time of year!

Haven’t managed to scrap much that I can show at the moment, mum’s been shuffling papers on an album she wanted to do for my aunt for Christmas and two weeks out from the big day I offered to do it for her…. nice of me but yep, a little stressful!! only 9 pages to go though so I’ll get there…

Have you checked out all the freebies at Eidou? there are a whole lot being added each week and we have some super specials on some gorgeous kits too! We also have Sara Belmont joining us soon, we’ve closed off our designer search and she’s the lucky (and super talented) last designer for Eidou for a while. We have such a fantastic team!

Ok, hoping to have some of my own scrapping done soon, just waiting on my goodie kit from Embellished (love scrappy mail)… hehehe

A time to share…

Here’s the layout I did for the Scrappin Patch competition in round 2 – in Mou Saha’s style. I found this one realllly hard as I hate my handwriting and NEVER do my own headings like that – I’d be lost without chipboard…

I’ve been very busy lately and haven’t managed much in the way of scrapping that hasn’t been done for Christmas presents! But I can share a few pages of an album I’ve made for my brother for Christmas (no danger of him reading my blog… LOL)… he’s always aspired to be a world famous skateboarder/surfer/snowboarder but although he did make it to being sponsored for surfing I think age has caught up with him and his dreams will only ever be that – a dream. Still he’s proud of his skateboarding so I made an album for him…

On the digital front we have a number of new artists who’ve joined Eidou! Welcome to Vicki Parker from England, Stacey Towers and Gina Fensterer from the US and Janine Worthington from New Zealand. These talented ladies join Sarah Gladstone and Wendy Polzin from Australia, Roxanna Parker from the US and myself in designing some awesome new products at fabulous prices!! Shortly our winner of the Cropstar Competition, Michele Stone, will also be joining us as a designer. Check out all the freebies they’ve been filling the store up with too!

We’re starting monthly competitions very soon as well as our Designer in the Spotlight and I have some HUGE ideas for next year to help bring all your hybrid scrappers over the dark side even more… hehehe

Time for a little evaluation…

So this is Christmas
And what have you done?
Another Year over, and a new one just begun…

This song (John Lennon) always makes me evaluate my life and as it’s getting to that time of year I thought I’d look back on my achievements this year.

  • Won the Prima contest (can’t wait for the goodies to arrive!)
  • Joined the Up2Scrap Elite Team

  • Made the Catwalk over at SisTV!

not too shabby! I’ve got big plans for 2009 too and feel really positive about it all.

There were some downers of course (moonboot free now though!) but all in all it’s been a pretty damned good year! I’ve made some wonderful new friends and my scrapping stash has probably doubled, but then so has the number of layouts I’ve managed to do!

All in all, roll on 2009!

Onto our fourth Santa…

and I’m wondering if I’ll ever get that Hallmark kind of picture…

We were out at Sylvia Park the other week and Joshie wanted to go see Santa (he’s really excited about the whole Santa thing this year) so off he goes. Standing in line he has a few second thoughts about actually meeting the big guy and by the time I manage to get him on Santa’s knee he’s less than smiling. So that was photo number one, he’s not crying but he’s not happy either so, being the scrapper I am, I endeavoured to get a better shot!

Enter Santa No. 2. This was a lovely Santa in Glenfield Mall (lots of shopping this time of year huh!). Things were looking good with Joshie willing to sit on Santa’s knee in exhange for chocolate (wonder where he gets THAT trait from… hehehe). We get 3 photos taken, and one of them was just gorgeous but then we hit a problem. The less-than-technically-minded-girl-child who was manning the computer neglected to tell the photographer that the computer was rebooting and the shots had been blown out of all recognisability. No chance of any further shots as Joshie had had enough by then so….

Finally at Albany Mall we had a third (and not final!) attempt. This time we queued for around 15 minutes so he could see the big guy and when it was finally his turn, he chickened out. As we were walking away (after losing his place) he decided he REAAAALLLY had to see Santa so AGAIN we queued up and what do you think happened? ahem… yes… I ended up retrieving his chocolate gift from Santa and giving it to Joshie who stated “look what Santa gave me!!” all excitedly… *sigh*…

I’m not giving up! I WILL get that Hallmark photo, although if I end up scrapping the first photo at least now I have a funny (and rather lengthy) story to go with it.

And now to the shoes. These are my darling son’s shoes. He loves them. He’s almost outgrown them. They’re literally starting to fall apart – can’t you see the love he’s worn into them?

Oh, and his feet get very hot and sweaty in them and he has BOY feet… so we endeavoured to buy him a new pair of sandals at the weekend. He’s outgrown all the pairs he had from last year so off we go and buy him some new Lightning McQueen ones. He won’t wear them. He wants his Thomas ones. With the holes and barely-there soles. The ones I’m embarrassed to let other people see him wearing. *sigh*

The tree is up, the wreath is on the door and the christmas cards are going out tomorrow. The presents are half wrapped and I’m listening to Carols on the radio… I love Christmas so much. Just thinking about Christmas can make me teary eyed, it’s such a special time of year. I’m so over emotional… LOL but I just can’t help it. Christmas GETS to me. I love it. I live for it. I get so excited on Christmas Eve I can’t sleep and I STILL get up at 6am to open presents!! I hope to never grow up.

Other than that I’ve been super busy behind the scenes madly scrapping for things I can’t yet show you, as well as my first assignments for both the Up2Scrap and Scrap ‘N Art magazines. Exciting stuff! Still, bear with me while we get through the patch of nothing to show you because as soon as I’m ahead of myself it’ll be back to the regular scheduled programming.
